Hello
everyone
For us 2006 has been a very hectic and emotional
year building the new house, but we did it and finally
moved in the Friday before Christmas. It felt very
strange to start with not thinking about what we
must plan, or what needed to be ordered. Phil and
I really enjoyed Christmas especially being able
to have all the family together with us in our new
home. It made it all worth while. I am very lucky
to have such a wonderful family and Husband who
has worked so hard this year to make us a lovely
home.
Thomas and Holly have settled into the house very well and really love their bedrooms and are nagging already to have sleep overs.
Thomas is still very keen on his football and plays for a local team in central midfield position. He also attends the weekly Beaver Group which he thoroughly enjoys and is looking forward to moving to the Cubs group when he is eight He is doing well at School and is learning to play the piano and enjoying an after school computer club. He will be back to playing cricket in the spring. The other hobby he has is aggravating his sister. He has a better social life than I do! We celebrated his 7th Birthday on 3rd June.
Holly
is enjoying school now, she was quite tearful at
the beginning of year 1. She really couldn't understand
why she had to move from Reception “but I
really love Mrs Evans, she said,
“I don’t need to go into another class” next came an explanation and a few tears. Thankfully she is over that now. Holly is a very loving child and adores anything cuddly. Holly started Horse Riding when she was 4 and she still loves it. This year we are helping to look after and ride a friends pony called Stanley. Holly will also join the Pony Club and hopefully make even more friends. She is also keen to join Beavers. The other thing Holly really enjoys is Swimming and Art. We celebrated her 5th Birthday on 6th June.
Hattie our Border Terrier dog also celebrated her 2nd Birthday.
We didn't have a holiday this year as we were so busy with the house build, but we did manage a few days in Somerset. We visited Longleat Safari Park, Wookey Hole Caves and the Old Paper Mill. It was a great weekend.
August brought Phil the juggling of Harvest and a House Build, he got through it and then started on the field work and more house build and a flat revamp. I took Thomas and Holly with my Mum for a day at the beach where my friend owns a beach hut, we have a great time meeting up with her and her two children. It is a yearly ritual of sausage and bacon rolls followed by doughnuts on the beach.
We saw the New Year in with some good friends, and some especially good wine they had been given. At £300 a bottle we savoured every drop. This year I am looking forward to spending more time doing family things. Phil and I are celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary on the 7th June. I can’t believe it!!
Phil
has just stoked the fire, so bye for now!
Love to you all, Sam, Phil, Tom and Hollyxxxxxxx
