In September she started in Year 2 and continues to be a ‘teacher pleaser’ at school. I just wish she could be like that at home as well. She is doing really well however, and just loves to read books.
Our
holidays last year included a week in Scotland during
the
summer holidays. We took the children to the Isle
of Cumbrae where you can hire cycles to ride around
the island. Alec had his own bike and Hannah was
attached to Derek’s. We all had very sore
bottoms at the end of it as it is 11 miles. We also
climbed a hill called the Dumpling and had a wonderful
view of Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond.
In October we had a week in Portugal with Derek’s Mum, Dad, brother and girlfriend and his two children. Despite the poor weather we had a very pleasant week. The children really enjoyed each others company and had a fantastic time in the pool including swimming in the rain and the dark!
Christmas was spent at home with Derek’s family and dog. On Boxing Day we went to Sam’s new house that they had finally moved into the previous Friday. It is absolutely stunning and after living in a mobile home for 4 years they thoroughly deserve it.
The year ended with a party at our house with all our neighbours and children. What a night! The last guests left at 4am and we literally danced all night.
